What's all the Ruckus!

All the honking of late should have warned me...the party was on!

I went out to the garden for some peace, but the festive signs were even evident there. Something is stirring things up!

Some residents even had a "glow" on. Now what could they be up to?

I think everyone is getting just a little flighty these days!

And, I am sure I have even heard a robin singing just out of sight. Could it be? Has Spring, with her giddy entourage, finally taken command of the season? Well then, let's get this party started!

I just heard the first Canada geese of the season today. Did I mention it's snowed about 8 inches today...stupid geese. They tricked me and had me thinking it was spring!

You think it's never going to arrive, never, never, and then the party starts before you're even dressed or ready! Happy Spring.

Kiki: Thank you! You are welcome to join the party anytime!

Miss m: You are so lucky! I know there is a robin in the trees close by my back garden but I haven’t spied him yet. The first robin of the season is still such a big thrill for me.

Christine B: Tricky geese! They have to have their fun too….. :)

Laurrie: We have hovered on the edge of spring for so long, it is nice to finally see “the life of the party”!

Sweetbay: I am amazed at how joyful all the birds sound right now. I am waking up early and hearing new songs everyday – I just love it!

Dear Ms.S, What lovely images. It is, as I am sure you find, so very exciting when, after the long months of winter, the garden and wildlife finally awake. To see and hear things stirring gives one such a sense of hope, even if the day itself may be grey.

I'm glad she finally made her way to you, Ms. S.

Dear Edith, Thank you for your comment. To hear the rising song of spring and see new life emerging is such a treat. I feel renewed with the season!

Deborah: Me too! It seems there are new spring delights to discover every day at this time of year.

Oh, those darned Canada geese. They're everywhere! And they certainly are party animals.

What a lovely picture of the Mourning Cloak. I've never seen one. Is that already fluttering around?

The warm weather this week is really coaxing plants out of the ground. The robins and chickadees have been having quieter parties around my place, and I noticed some twig gathering. Perhaps there will be some family parties soon.

Great post MsS, sorry I missed it! I agree that it's time for the part to start! It's so nice to see the buds forming. :)

Anna: Yay is right! I think it’s time to get out the party dress. :)

Helen: The Mourning Cloak is one of the earliest butterflies to emerge it. I have read that it over winters. They are fluttering about in pairs along the river valley trails – I think romance must be in the air! ;-)

Northern Shade: I was out of province for a few days and when we got back late yesterday I was amazed at the progress over the weekend. We sat in the back yard last evening and listened to the birds singing as we caught up on the local newspapers. I hope to hear baby birds chirping soon!

Rebecca: I am sure Mother Nature is hurrying back to Lethbridge as I write this! Hope your week is mild and bright!

Well if it's spring in Edmonton, you know it's spring in the rest of the northern hemisphere. Yep. Time to Par-TEE.

I love how gnarled iris' can look, then a new shoot of life just comes through one day.

Grace: Yes, spring is confirmed in the northern hemisphere - bring out the bubbly! :)

DGG: I am amazed by the irises. They turn into such an elegant plant. The foliage is striking all through the season.

Yes, the party has started. The park is full of birds and people. The little English robins are building nests in unsuitable containers! And the hayfever makes life a bit difficult!
Have lovely weekend!
